Built Around the Moment You Choose
A wedding display is not a scaled-down civic show. It is a short, deliberate piece of theater placed at exactly the right point in your evening. Most couples build the display around a single moment — and everything from effect selection to pacing follows from that decision.
The First Dance
A short, elegant sequence that lifts the moment without pulling focus from the couple.
The Last Song
Cues designed to land as the final song peaks and the dance floor is full.
The Send-Off
A finale timed to the exit so the last thing guests see is the sky.
The Surprise Reveal
Guests are told nothing. The sky simply opens. This is the version people talk about for years.
Arizona Venues and Destination Weddings
Family owned and operated in Scottsdale and serving Arizona since 1993, we know how different a resort lawn, a desert estate, and an open ranch are once you start planning a display. What is possible always comes back to the site.
- Arizona resort and golf-club weddings
- Desert estate and private-ranch weddings
- Destination weddings in Scottsdale and Paradise Valley
- Sedona and northern Arizona venues
- Tucson and southern Arizona properties
- Vineyard, ranch, and open-land ceremonies
- Rehearsal dinners and welcome parties
- Anniversary and vow-renewal celebrations
We produce displays across Arizona, New Mexico, southern Nevada, and southern Utah — see our service areas or read more about private event displays.
We Coordinate the Complicated Parts
You already have a wedding to plan. Our job is to absorb the technical side — site evaluation, guest separation, approvals coordination, production, and show-night execution — and hand you back one clean cue in the timeline.
01
Discovery
We talk through your date, venue, guest count, timeline, and the feeling you want the finale to leave behind.
02
Site Feasibility
We evaluate the firing location, guest placement, sightlines, structures, surrounding property, and site conditions.
03
Approvals & Design
We coordinate applicable approvals with the venue and authorities while designing the show around your timeline.
04
Show Night
Our crew handles setup, cueing with your planner or DJ, firing, and full site restoration afterward.
Our licensing, insurance, and safety framework is detailed on the Safety, Licensing & Insurance page, and effect scale is explained in the shell size guide.
Handled Entirely by a Licensed Crew
Everything you see in the sky is professional display product, transported, set up, and fired by our crew. Guests never handle pyrotechnics of any kind. Firing positions, audience separation, and site conditions are planned in advance and reassessed on show night before anything is fired.
Southwest Fireworks is ATF licensed and carries $5 million in professional fireworks liability coverage. Many venues require proof of coverage and approvals documentation before they will allow a display — we prepare that as part of the engagement.
What We Need to Evaluate Your Wedding
- Venue name and exact address
- Wedding date and reception timeline
- Expected guest count
- The moment you want the display built around
- Available open space near the venue
- Planner or coordinator contact
- Venue contact, if you have one
- Approximate budget range
- Whether fireworks have been approved at the venue before
- Whether the display should be a surprise to guests
The exact venue address matters most. Site geometry and local requirements determine what kind of display — if any — is possible at a given property.
Wedding Fireworks Questions
Can we have fireworks at our Arizona wedding venue?
It depends on the venue, the available firing area, required separation from guests and structures, and the approvals that apply in that jurisdiction. We evaluate each property individually before recommending a display.
How far in advance should we book wedding fireworks?
Earlier is better. Venue review, approvals, and production planning all take time, and peak wedding weekends fill quickly. If your date is close, contact us anyway and we will tell you honestly whether it is workable.
How long does a wedding fireworks display last?
Most wedding finales are short and intentional — often a focused sequence rather than a long municipal-style show. The duration is shaped by your venue, budget, and the moment the display is built around.
Can the display be timed to music or a specific moment?
Yes. Cues can be planned around the last dance, the send-off, a toast, or the exact moment you want the sky to open. Music synchronization is possible where the venue and production plan support it.
Who handles permits and venue approvals?
Southwest Fireworks coordinates the professional display-planning process with the authorities having jurisdiction and the venue. Some venues or jurisdictions require participation or documentation from the couple, planner, or property.
What happens if the weather does not cooperate?
Wind and fire conditions are monitored as part of show planning and show-night safety decisions. Event-specific contractual terms govern postponement, modification, or cancellation.
Are guests ever near the fireworks?
No. Guests remain at a planned distance from the firing area. All product is handled exclusively by our licensed crew — there are no consumer fireworks and nothing for guests to light.
Do you work with wedding planners and venues?
Regularly. We are comfortable coordinating with planners, catering managers, venue operations, and production teams so the display fits the timeline everyone else is running.
